ActivPayroll delivers global payroll, tax and HR solutions for enterprise clients operating across multiple regions. The company set out to define a future vision for its platform by creating a series of clickable demos, each tailored to different user types. The goal was to transform what had previously been a fragmented and manual process, often handled through emails and calls, into a centralised, digital first product experience. The work included product design, prototyping, component libraries and cross user journey mapping.





The challenge was to consolidate eight standalone modules into a single, cohesive platform. Each module supported a different stage of the payroll lifecycle, from onboarding and compliance to payment approvals and reporting. The team began by creating a shared component library and visual guidelines to ensure consistency across all user flows. With a focus on clarity, efficiency and role based access, the resulting product designs enabled teams to collaborate seamlessly across countries, time zones and job roles, all within one unified experience.






To bring the platform vision to life, a suite of clickable prototypes was produced to demonstrate the end to end journey for each major user type. These interactive demos were used in user testing sessions, stakeholder reviews and development planning. The prototypes illustrated how previously manual workflows could be streamlined, centralised and tracked, creating greater transparency and reducing operational overhead. A number of innovation concepts were also explored, showing how AI could automate repetitive tasks, flag anomalies in payroll data and provide proactive user support. The success of the demos led to highly positive feedback from clients and stakeholders, resulting in significant investment from the board to fast track development and bring the new product vision to market.
